Alessi contributes a portion of the purchase price from the red “Parmenide” cheese grater to the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, which can provide 7 days of life-saving HIV medication. Part of the Objet Bijou collection, This Chili scruncher brings to mind the famous red chili-shaped good luck charm from Naples. In delicate, “biological design” it unites two very different senses: the tender softness of transparent rubber and the hard elegance of polished steel. “Piccantino” chops, spreads and stores chili. It was conceived to solve the problem this irritating spice presents of coming into direct contact with the skin and mucous membranes. It can be a gift; a small, precious object for connoisseurs of spicy food… and like chili itself: it goes just about anywhere. Design: LPWK and Jim Hannon-Tan Gift boxed
Part of the Objet Bijou collection, VOILE by Paolo Gerosa is a Spaghetti Measure designed for approximately one, two or five servings. Its form evokes an image of airy lightness, a symbol of fluidity. It’s a small accessory for the kitchen to be displayed in the kitchen, suspended over the scales’ gravity, or given as a gift to spaghetti lovers or for those who always get the serving size wrong… Design: LPWK and Paolo Gerosa Dimensions: 9 cm x 7 cm – h. 3.5 cm Gift boxed
LockBlock™ is perfect for parents with little ones running around the kitchen. As each knife is placed inside a knife slot, its blade is held securely by the unique childproof mechanism. Pulling on a knife only increases the force of the grip so knives cannot be simply forced out of the block. To remove a knife from LockBlock™, the release button, situated on either side for left and right-handed operation, needs to be firmly pressed. But due to its position and the force required to press it, only someone with an adult-sized hand can do this. The mechanism inside won’t damage expensive knife blades as it has a smooth rubber surface. LockBlock™ also has universal knife slots to fit most knives.
